Ivanka Gallery was founded in 2019 in Borša, near Košice, Slovakia, as a creative space dedicated to contemporary abstract painting. Today, the gallery represents the artistic work of husband-and-wife duo Ivanka Matiss and Manolo Roman, two artists united by a shared devotion to colour, gesture, emotion, and the expressive power of painting.

Working primarily with acrylic on canvas, Ivanka Matiss has developed a visual language rooted in imagination, memory, identity, and the atmospheric force of colour. Shaped by travels across Europe, London, and New York, her paintings translate inner visions into bold, vibrant compositions. Her garden has become a central source of inspiration, grounding her practice in nature, light, and the emotional rhythm of changing seasons.

Manolo Roman brings a deeply textured and instinctive approach to abstraction, influenced by art history, spirituality, philosophy, and the expressive traditions of European modernism. His work explores gesture, materiality, and the psychological atmosphere of human experience, creating paintings that carry both raw intensity and contemplative depth.
